Sam’s entire being shook with need. Before him stood his target, his victim. Unaware of, or unwilling to see, the danger they were in. It was almost intoxicating to know what he could do to them, what they would go through as he did it.

He shuddered, look at the demon, and smirked.

He felt the power surge through him. All he had to do was think about it, and it came to him. A rush of electricity flowing through his veins, burning at his flesh in anticipation to be set loose on its victim. He took a deep calming breath, raised his hand, and grinned.

The realization finally dawned on the demon’s face as it felt the spark of power jump through the air, reaching for it. But it was too late; the power was hungry tonight.

Sam clenched his hand into a fist and watched hungrily as the demon choked and gasped. Hands gripped at a stolen throat as black smoke trickled out of every orifice. The sound of desperation filled Sam with pleasure as he tightened his hand further, releasing the last burst of power he had and forcing the demon from it’s vessel.

He watched the smoke swirl about the body as it dropped to the floor, then chuckled as it was sucked farther below than he could ever see. “I’ve seen sinking ships go down with more grace than you.”
I had a bunch of Fall Out Boy quotes that I posted on Tumblr as prompts for short stories. This was one of them.
